electronic music world

Starting this thread where us members of pixies palace can announce our latest work, tell about the background of the track(s) and receive feedback.

The idea is that you upload your track to your profile and announce it here so that our friends know a little more about your art.

What do you think?

Cheers,
Dave

I posted two new tracks here at Pixies and on MySpace today.

I/O You and Rock the Geek.

I/O You is about relationships and "input and output" required to make it work. I had some fun with the vocoder on this one and the lyrics are: Oh I I/O You, Oh I - I do while in the track I only use nouns (I think is the right word?) so it is: O I I/O U I O.

Rock the Geek is a fun and upbeat track so that we can rock the socks off our geeks :)

New dance track from Electromagnetic Impulses (aka Jay) featuring my vocals - 'Taking Me Down'.

This is the No.5 track for our forthcoming EP together. Track is uploaded on Jay's page here at the network.

This thread is a cool idea Voide and your new tracks - 'Rock the Geek' and 'I/O You' are ace, as are the many other tracks I've now heard from you - fantastic classic electro feel (vocoder rocks!), wicked bass lines and great dance vibez, DIGGIN' IT! Your music is turning up regularly on my media player lists now, thanks for the downloads! Congratz on the Bleepshow feature I read about in your MySpace blog too...

p.s. the above track player widget is from Imeem, which I just joined. if anyone is already there or about to join, friend me :)

I really dig your new track together with Jay! It's upbeat and at the same time laid back - your voice, that I like a lot, and a vocoder voice of any kind in a song makes my day! :)

Thanks a lot for the feedback and I am glad you like the music!
And Pete rocks, I highly recommend others to submit music to him for inclusion in his shows.

I thought that this would be the place to announce a bit more than just the track itself and it's title. I mean there is usually so much more to a track, the thought behind it, the new cool things you tried in this very mix and so on.

Seems cool, I just wonder how many networks of this kind one can sign up to before the day turns into a marathon of updating profiles. I myself signed up to MTV SoundTrack the other day, it seems MTV are making it easy for them to find new artists as you can select if you want to be considered or not - not that I mind :)

So true about the marathon efforts of signing up for many sites, I'm just onto it more than usual at the moment because of changes at Last.fm, wandering around seeing what's out there and what might be possible in terms of promoting independent music elsewhere. Imeem was just for the track widgets because Last.fm has dropped them. More on this stuff in this thread...

Yeah, I know what you mean Pixieguts.
I have been checking out quite a few of these communities for a long time now and I will start cancelling accounts soon. First there is the effort of keeping them up to date, the other is having some kind of return. But then again, it is always good to keep your eyes open for new potential ones as well.
I really do hope last. fm gets sorted...

Maybe we need a new topic for on-line presences in the forum?

Seems worth leaving profiles up even if they are not active for random visits and discoveries of your music over time but I understand why you might want to focus energies too. There's a discussion about these things already in progress at this discussion thread...

Ah, I've missed that one :P
Thanks!

I've just posted a new track- a new version of Pacific Highway, featuring superb vocals from Pixieguts. You can find it here, last.fm or on the Northcape webpage. It can also be downloaded for free :-)

As Northcape mentioned earlier, we have collaborated for the first time on a new track...

Pacific Highway (Northcape Version)

Northcape is a maker of wonderful melodic electronica whose music at Last.fm has well over 100,000 plays to date.

The new track with him is a vocal remix version of the original Pacific Highway by Dementio13 Feat Pixieguts.

Thanks for the great tracks Northcape and Dementio13!
